by Alexis Patton
Young adult · ages 14–18 · 850L
Solid YA with genuine stakes around identity and belonging; identity-exploration arc resonates, though the pacing lags in the middle.
Sibylline
by Melissa de la Cruz
Young adult · ages 14–18 · 820L · 2026
Solid urban-fantasy premise with de la Cruz's familiar competence, but the pacing stumbles in the middle and the romantic subplot overshadows the magic-system worldbuilding.

by Holly Black
Young adult · ages 14–18 · 770L · 2019
Holly Black's Shaun Cassidy energy wrapped in genuine stakes—dark enough to earn teen respect, romantic enough to sustain interest, and Hazel's voice remains unflinchingly hers.
